With respectable armour and armament for a heavy frigate, the Wayfarer does not cut close the ruthless economy that would suite it for bulk trade on the dedicated lanes where safety is guaranteed by civilized locale (or, at least, an armed escort). No, the Wayfarer is a starship for the lonely runs on the frontier, between worlds where the tough law of necessity reigns, where brigands roam, and the crossed arcs of one's own gun turrets are the best comfort to be found in the cold reach of space.

–In-Game Description

The Wayfarer is a frigate-sized combat freighter with multiple small mounts and decent shields.

Tips & TricksEdit

Wayfarer arcs

Weapon arcs The middle two mounts are unable to fire at targets directly in front of the ship however angling the ship will let both forward mounts & one of the side mounts concentrate on target. Move the mouse cursor roughly one frigate length to the left or the right of the target, as your ship will face your mouse cursor with default settings. In this picture the sweet spot for the ion cannon is marked in red, with where to position the mouse marked in blue

This is particularly important in the early game with the stock load out as the ion cannon makes fighting unshielded pirates much easier. Angling to the other side brings the extra Light Machine Gun in to bring shielded opponents down faster
